Project Overview
This project involved the deployment of over 600 mobile handheld terminals on a rental basis during peak festival season. All terminals had to be set up, configured, and tested under extremely tight deadlines.
Due to limited internet access on-site, a new offline transaction processing workflow was implemented to ensure uninterrupted sales. Over 12 staff members worked in shifts to provide on-site support and training within a very short timeframe.
My Responsibilities
- Managed the deployment of 600+ handheld terminals across the festival site
- Coordinated on-site staff shifts and provided training for festival personnel
- Developed and implemented offline transaction processing to cope with limited connectivity
- Ensured hardware and software configurations were completed within tight deadlines
- Oversaw daily operational support and troubleshooting throughout the festival
- Produced documentation and guides for festival staff on terminal usage
Implementation
Terminals were pre-configured prior to the festival and deployed rapidly across multiple locations. A dedicated team of 12 staff worked in shifts to support setup, train personnel, and troubleshoot issues.
An offline transaction system was implemented to ensure sales continuity, with reporting processes adapted to sync with central systems once connectivity was restored.
