Project Scope

Short term EPOS Deployment (Rental)

Project Overview

This project involved the deployment of over 600 mobile handheld terminals on a rental basis during peak festival season. All terminals had to be set up, configured, and tested under extremely tight deadlines to ensure smooth festival operations.

Due to limited internet access on-site, a new offline transaction processing workflow was implemented to ensure uninterrupted sales. Over 12 staff members worked in shifts to provide on-site support and training to festival personnel within a very short timeframe.

Project Challenges

The project was highly time-sensitive, with strict deadlines to meet before the festival opened. Key challenges included configuring and deploying hardware quickly, training festival staff on new systems, and ensuring all transactions could be processed reliably offline. Coordination with multiple stakeholders was critical to meet the festival’s operational requirements.

My Responsibilities

Implementation

Terminals were pre-configured prior to the festival and then deployed rapidly across multiple festival locations. A dedicated team of 12 staff members worked in shifts to support setup, train festival personnel, and troubleshoot any issues during the event.

An offline transaction system was implemented to ensure sales continuity, and reporting processes were adapted to sync with central systems once connectivity was available. This ensured accurate tracking of sales and product data throughout the festival.
